From our founding in 2009, Beam Craft has developed into an experienced team of carpenters, detailers, and managers.  We are builders of heavy timber, mass timber, and lightwood framed structures.   

With offices in Edmonton, Alberta and Vancouver, British Columbia, our main focus is to serve the general contractor community throughout Western Canada as a subcontractor specializing in mass timber.  The goal of the Beam Craft Team is to create a professional building environment where we are engaged through purposeful processes to deliver projects safely with efficiency and excellence. 

People

Beam Craft is a company that has been built with a team of experienced carpenters at its core.  Founders, Jason Beamish and Julius Kettler, have been diligently establishing a reputation based on trust, quality product, and high level of service for their clients over the past 12 years. We are actively involved in indenturing apprentices and have played a part in seeing many workers achieve their Red Seal Journeyman carpenter status. Part of the maturing of our team in recent years has been the addition of project detailers, project coordinators and safety personnel. Beam Craft is blessed to have committed staff that love to build.

Passion

We have been involved in most types of wood construction over the years both residential and commercial.  In particular, Beam Craft has always had a passion for exposed structural wood systems. We have experience in traditional timber framing with wood to wood connections, post and beam, heavy timber trusses as well as the emerging line up of mass timber products.

Process

The construction industry is experiencing transformation as new materials, technology and project delivery models are being adopted.  Beam Craft recognizes that the most valuable trade partners are those who understand and take responsibility for process. With an increasing level of pre-fabricated wood components, the importance of communicating between all companies involved - from specifications, design, manufacturing, shipping and installation - cannot be underestimated. 

We are regularly involved with design assist, preliminary budget proposals, and specialty timber engineering on the front end of projects. 

Once awarded a contract, we are actively involved in pre-construction activities, such as scheduling, shop drawing reviews, 3D-modelling, and trucking sequence.

On the job site our project coordinators are actively involved and utilize Procore management software to communicate with our staff and clients.  Daily progress reports, RFI's and Quality Assurance are being built into our process at the site level.  All construction projects can benefit from detailed coordination and Beam Craft is a leader within our division because of our ability to add value to the General Contractors daily management activities.
