Scope of Work: Beam Craft was awarded the scope of Mass Timber Installation as a subcontractor for PCL of Edmonton. The structural steel frame created a tray for the Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) roof panels to nest into which gave a very elegant finish with no visible connections on the underside.  The CLT was supplied to site by Structurlam with all edge machining completed.  Beam Craft carpenters executed a detailed layout of all concealed bolts and drilled panels prior to hoisting into place.  Although the geometry is relatively simple, it was a challenging installation that made for some “learning opportunities”.
