Red Crow Community College
This project had two phases of mass timber install done by Beam Craft starting with the large glulaminated gymnasium beams followed by the feature atrium space. The atrium has 4 round glulam columns with braces or “branches” which reach up and help support the sloping glulam waffle ceiling framework. Glulaminated Timber (GLT) panels were used to make the roof deck and were installed with a 150mm space between panels.
All mass timber and connection design was manufactured, engineered and supplied by Western Archrib of Edmonton, AB.
This is an amazing space designed by Kasian Architecture and RJC. It will be a focal gathering area for the college and the community members to enjoy for decades to come. We are honoured to be involved with this build and look forward to seeing it in use by the Blood Tribe of Southern Alberta.
